Thank you to all my subscribers to the newsletter, Tales of Old England Christendom.
We’ve reached the 250 subscriber milestone.
I have enjoyed reading and researching this incredible topic. As an Englishmen, uncovering the Christian roots of the Anglo culture, I have found it eye-opening.
And there is so much more to write about too. For Christmas, I received this book, The Church in Anglo-Saxon Culture. I’ve already found it a great resource.
In the new year, I will continue to write about the lives of the saints and dig into how the Anglo-Saxons lived out Christianity. And alongside, I will start a deep dive into the life of King Alfred the Great.
Modern Western culture is messy. It seems to have lost its direction and purpose. It has abandoned Christianity, the core of its culture, and embraced ‘foreign gods’ (to use a Biblical phrase).
I believe King Alfred’s story will give Christians hope at this time and help them to see a path ahead.
My good friend, Dr Nathan Hood, calls King Alfred, the Winter Hero. Alfred is indeed a hero for our times. Please check out Dr Nathan Hood’s YouTube Channel. Especially if you love European history, culture, myth and obviously Tolkien.
I would like to remind you that I write two other newsletters. Tower of Adam, which is my Bible Study newsletter, and Agloria - where I discuss anything of interest which comes to mind. For example on Agloria, I recently published a mash up of Aesop’s Fables and the Parables of Jesus. And a story about how, one Winter, Adam and Eve lost their children.
Thank you for subscribing. Have a blessed New Year.
Best Wishes
Alexander
