Are you a Holocaust denier? ("This isn't strictly true"). If not, how isn't it strictly true?

If we read WWII history without the Western lens, the Soviets had a significantly hand in defeating the Nazis. And yet they are never included in the myth which creates the Modern West.

The Holocaust was dreadful, but so too was all the other groups which were exterminated by the Nazi regime. These aren’t included in the WWII story too.

The simplified WWII story we are told in the West, is true enough, but is not completely 100% accurate.

Also. a myth is not a lie, it is a story we use to explain why we are here. We have personal myths, cultural myths and national myths. Myths feed into our values and how we understand the World around us. This is why Nazi is such a bad thing to call someone. It’s like calling them the Devil.

True, the Russians have their own mythology associated with the Great Patriotic War, as they call it. Their version is not completely accurate either, but they did do more to defeat the Nazis than any other nation, and suffered by far the most at their hands.
